Forward Mark Bzowey commits to the Kitchener Rangers

Kitchener Rangers General Manager Murray Hiebert announced Wednesday that forward Mark Bzowey has committed to the team and has signed an Ontario Hockey League agreement. Bzowey was the Rangers’ 7th round pick in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection.

Kitchener - July 31, 2013 - Kitchener Rangers General Manager Murray Hiebert announced Wednesday that forward Mark Bzowey has committed to the team and has signed an Ontario Hockey League agreement. Bzowey was the Rangers’ 7th round pick in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection.

Bzowey played 65 games with the Oakville Rangers Minor Midget program in 2012-13, averaging over a point-per-game with 30 goals and 43 assists. He was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2013 OMHA Minor Midget AAA Championship after leading the tournament with four goals and four assists in five games.

Described by Rangers scouts as a smart player with elite hockey sense who plays big and wins battles, Bzowey also recorded six points in seven games at the 2013 OHL Cup, helping the Rangers to a championship title.

“We are pleased that Mark has committed to the Kitchener Rangers,” said Hiebert, adding that the 16 year old centre has committed to the Oakville Blades (OJHL) for the upcoming 2013-14 season.

“He is a promising young talent, and we look forward to watching him develop further. We are confident that he will be a great addition to the Rangers line-up in the future.”
