Long Island - Mar. 5, 2020: Johnny Boychuk had no damage to his eye, but the New York Islanders defenseman required 90 stitches to close a cut to his eyelid after taking a skate to the face during the third period of a 6-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday. New York - Apr. 27, 2019: Craig Berube of the St. Louis Blues, Jon Cooper of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Barry Trotz of the New York Islanders were named Friday as finalists for the Jack Adams Award, given annually to the coach voted as the best in the NHL. The winner will be announced at the 2019 NHL Awards presented by Bridgestone at the Mandalay Bay Events Center sports and entertainment complex in Las Vegas on June 19. FULL STORY

East Meadow - Apr. 4, 2019: Valtteri Filppula could return from an elbow injury for the New York Islanders in time for the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs next week. Filppula, who hyperextended his elbow during a 5-0 loss against the Boston Bruins on March 19 and has missed seven games, was a full participant at practice Wednesday. The 35-year-old center has 29 points (15 goals, 14 assists) in 71 games this season, his first with the Islanders. FULL STORY

New York - Sep. 20, 2015: New York Islanders prospect Joshua Ho-Sang's was sent to the Ontario Hockey League after arriving late to practice on Friday and admitted he was embarrassed on Saturday. Ho-Sang did not set an alarm clock and overslept causing him to be late to the Islanders' first day of training camp. Islanders general manager Garth Snow immediately sent him to his OHL team in Niagara. FULL STORY

Stoney Point - Jul. 13, 2015: Many have said that Garth Snow and the New York Islanders took a huge gamble when they traded up in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft to snag Josh Ho Sang, then of the Windsor Spitfires. There is little doubt that Ho Sang has the natural ability to be a top six forward in the NHL. In his three seasons in the OHL, he has play 190 games, scored 63 goals and put up 210 points. In a major trade during the 1995 NHL Draft in Edmonton, the Vancouver Canucks obtained Alexander Mogilny from Buffalo, in exchange for Mike Peca, Mike Wilson, and their #1 pick (Jay McKee) in the draft held that day. New York - Mar. 12, 2015: The New York Islanders announced Thursday that defenseman Johnny Boychuk has agreed to terms on a seven-year contract. Financial details of the contract were not released, but Newsday reported it's worth $42 million, for a $6 million annual average value. Boychuk could have become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. FULL STORY
