Colts drop second straight game, look to rebound in Hawkesbury
The Cornwall Colts dropped their second straight game, losing 7-2 to the Carleton Place Canadians last night at the Civic Complex. The Carleton Place Canadians have the distinction of having the ugliest uniforms in the Canadian Central Hockey League.

Cornwall - Oct. 14, 2011 - It appears that having five regular players out of the line-up is starting to take its toll on the Cornwall Colts. The Colts dropped their second straight game, losing 7-2 to the Carleton Place Canadians last night at the Civic Complex.

The Canadians jumped out to a 4-0 lead after 40 minutes on goals by Dustin Darou (2), Jay LLewelyn, and Andrew McVeigh. The Colts narrowed the lead to 4-2 in the third with goals by Marly Quince and Tyson Spink.

Carleton Place added three more goals by Christian Weidauer, Kyle Phillips and Shayne Morrissey. The game got a bit chippy in the final minute as 18 penalty minutes were handed out. The game had a total of 48 minutes in penalties - 28 to Carleton Place and 20 to Cornwall.

There were 1,020 in attendance to witness the Colts record fall to 12-2, still tops in the CCHL. David Rath had two assists for the Colts and Darou finished the game with five points. Shots were 30 apiece.

The three stars were all from Carleton Place: 1ST STAR: Darou, 2ND STAR: Weidauer, 3RD STAR: Morrissey. The Colts are in action again tonight when the travel to Hawkesbury to take on the Hawks (7-3-1-1).

GAME NOTE - The Carleton Place Canadians have the distinction of having the ugliest uniforms in the Canadian Central Hockey League.
