South Dundas - June 18, 2014 - Tim Hudak should leave now. Not once the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party decides to hold their leadership convention and elect a new leader. Leave now. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Why should Hudak leave immediately you may ask? He should have left after the 2011 election. Tim Hudak should not have been leader of the PC's in the 2014 election and it gave Kathleen Wynne a Liberal majority.

We no longer live in the times where a political leader gets to "grow-into-the-job" or "learn-as-they-go". Modern politics in Ontario has become "One and Done". If you cannot get the win, cannot unseat the current Premier, reach the brass ring, in one shot, you don't get a second try.

Hudak failed in 2011 to attain enough seats to beat then-Premier Dalton McGuinty. That should have been a sign of his weakness as a leader. The 2014 Ontario Election was just confirmation of that weakness.

Many critics are complaining about the campaign platform, the "Million Jobs Plan" and the "100,000 jobs cut", as being the crux of the PC's campaign failure. Others complain about the backroom strategists, the "War-Room" failures, or as Conservative Senator Mike Duffy puts it "kids in short pants down the hall".

In the end, Tim Hudak picked his campaign team, he picked his strategists, he picked his platform. Tim Hudak failed. He failed to take advantage of all of the scandals, greed, waste, and bad policy from the Ontario Liberals. Tim Hudak had this problem in 2011 and as a consequence Dalton McGuinty received a minority government. More waste, scandal, greed, and bad policy comes to light after the 2011 election; Billions worth. Yet again, Tim Hudak fails to hold Liberals account for their actions, and for that, Ontarians are rewarded with FOUR YEARS of Liberal majority rule.

The captain goes down with the ship, Tim Hudak needs to go now. The longer Hudak sticks around as a lame-duck party leader, the longer it will take for the PC's to get their own house in order.
