Ingleside - December 28, 2011 - 'Tis the season to give to others, and Grade 12 student Neil Dempster inspired R-O students to reach into their piggy banks to support Pennies for Patients and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.

After growing his hair for three years, Neil challenged R-O students to bring in their loose change for the Interact Club's Pennies for Patients initiative, with the promise that the student who donated the largest amount of money would be able to wield the scissors.

Kasey Sleeman was the winner and earned the right to cut Neil's shoulder length hair, which will be donated to an organization that makes wigs for cancer patients.

So far, $446.09 has been donated, with donations still coming in.
