Cornwall Police blotter for December 14

It is alleged that the two females attended a Water Street store, concealed merchandise and made no attempts to pay for the items. The females were detained by the store's lost prevention officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service patrol Division.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE
Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating the theft of a 2003 Ford F350 pickup truck, blue in colour which was stolen between the 9th of December, 2011 and the 12th of December, 2011 at a South Branch Road residence. If you have any information regarding this theft, please contact the Service at 613-932-2110 or Crime Stoppers at 613-937-8477.

BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- Richard Sawatis, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on the 13th of December, 2011. He was bound by two probation orders with the relevant conditions to keep the peace & be of good behaviour, notify change of address within 24 hours and not be within 50 meters of a certain address. He was also bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to keep the peace & be of good behaviour, notify within 24 hours change of address and not to be within 100 meters of a certain address. It is alleged that on the 10th of December, 2011 he was observed to be in the area of the said address. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. Investigation revealed that he failed to notify his change of address. He was located and charged with 3 counts of breach of probation order and 3 counts of breach of undertaking. He was held in custody until court the following day.

SHOPTHEFT
Cornwall, ON- Nathalie Lavigne, 21 and Julie Lalonde, 21 both of Cornwall were arrested on the 13th of December, 2011. It is alleged that the two females attended a Water Street store, concealed merchandise and made no attempts to pay for the items. The females were detained by the store's lost prevention officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service patrol Division. They were both charged with theft under $5000.00 and released to appear in court on the 17th of January, 2012.
