Tractor Trailer fire closes eastbound Highway 401 at Prescott

The Prescott detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is reporting that the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 are closed west of Prescott due to a tractor trailer fire. Police are detouring traffic via MM 696 (Augusta Road) to MM 708 of E/B Highway 401 near Maitland. The notice was posted at 9:21 am and it is unclear how long the clean-up will take.

At this point there is no word of any injuries.
