Cornwall - Nov. 10, 2011 - The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297 and the City of Cornwall have installed a new plaque on the Cenotaph Monument on Second Street West that pays tribute to all those who have served with NATO and UN Forces and in Afghanistan.

The bilingual plaque will be officially dedicated during the Remembrance Day ceremony on Friday, November 11, at 11 am. Residents are encouraged to participate in the ceremony.

"It is important to recognize the service and sacrifice of the brave men and women who serve on our behalf," said Mayor Bob Kilger. "This particular plaque recognizes Canadians who have served in Afghanistan as well NATO and UN Forces."

Cornwall's Cenotaph Monument features several other plaques honouring those who served in World War I, World War II and Korea.
