Cornwall man arrested for altercation with ex-girlfriend

The following is an official media release from the Cornwall Community Police Service: A 27 year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 31st of October, 2011. It is alleged that on the 31st of October, 2011 he attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence and got into an altercation with her. Police were contacted and an investigation followed.

BREACH
Cornwall, ON- Louis Mitchell, 59 of Cornwall was arrested on the 31st of October, 2011. He was bound by an undertaking with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to leave your residence if you have consumed alcohol. It is alleged that on the 31st of October, 2011 he was away from his residence while being under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with 2 counts of breach of undertaking and released to appear in court on the 115th of November, 2011.

Cornwall, ON- A 14 year-old Cornwall youths was arrested on the 1st of November, 2011. The youth was bound by an undertaking with the conditions to take all medication as prescribed by your doctor under supervision of your parents, reside at a certain address and abide by the rules of that residence, not to be away from my residence between the hours of 9m and 7am except with written consent of your mother, and not to associate with persons not approved by your mother. It is alleged that on the 31st of October,. 2011 the youth failed to return for curfew and failed to follow house rules. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was located and charged with 4 counts of breach of undertaking and held in custody to appear in court later that day. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- A 51 year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 31st of October, 2011. It is alleged that he got into an altercation with his ex-girlfriend’s 59 year-old boyfriend when he assaulted him. The victim suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with assault and released to appear in court on the 17th of November, 2011. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

DOMESTIC BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- A 27 year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 31st of October, 2011. He was bound by a recognizance with the relevant conditions to not associate or communicate directly or indirectly with his 25 year-old ex-girlfriend and not to attend her residence except in the presence of police for belongings. He was also bound by a probation order with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 31st of October, 2011 he attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence and got into an altercation with her. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of recognizance and breach of probation order. He was held in custody to appear in court on the 1st of November, 2011.
