SD&G Coalition for Social Justice elects a new executive
The SD&G Coalition for Social Justice has elected a new executive. The Chair is Helene Paquin, The Vice Chair is Jason Setnyk, The Secretary is Stephanie Nadeau, The Treasurer is Elaine MacDonald, and the Youth Representative is Carilyne Hébert.

Cornwall - Aug. 27, 2011 - The SD&G Coalition for Social Justice has elected a new executive. The Chair is Helene Paquin, The Vice Chair is Jason Setnyk, The Secretary is Stephanie Nadeau, The Treasurer is Elaine MacDonald, and the Youth Representative is Carilyne Hébert. Other members of the SD&G Coalition for Social Justice are Michelle Gratton, Gary Samler (Media Representative), Lisa Montroy, Paul Aubin, Fred Cappuccino, Ian Wilson, Rodney Cryderman (Web design), and James and Ruby Duval.

The SD&G Coalition for Social Justice now has a mission statement, vision statement, and a list of core values.

Our Mission Statement: The Mission of the SD&G Coalition for Social Justice is to enhance and advance the full spectrum of human rights for everyone in the community.

Our Vision Statement: The SD&G Coalition for Social Justice’s vision for our community is a place that is just, equitable, and environmentally sustainable for all.

Our Values: The core values of the SD&G Coalition for Social Justice are to promote social change through activism, broad participation, and accountability. We hold ourselves accountable to the broader movement for peaceful progressive social change, and we commit to applying our values to all of our organization’s operations.

Recently the SD&G Coalition of Social Justice wrote a letter of response for the Social Assistance Review. The Coalition gave it's recommendations and thoughts on how to help all low income Ontarians, and how to better improve Ontario Works and ODSP.

The SD&G Coalition for Social Justice also has an upcoming event on Friday October 28th. The Coalition will be hosting The Denise Vernier Memorial Dinner at the Army Navy Air Force Club on 14 Malborough. Doors are at 5:30pm and the event starts at 6pm. Tickets are $10, and there will also be a silent auction. Money raised will go towards various social justice projects, initiatives, and events.
