CHARGES LAID
(South Stormont) - On 31 Jul 11, at approximately 3:30am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Simco St, Long Sault On.
The stop revealed that the 23yr old male driver (Binyamin SHIMSOON of Thurso, QC) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
He was arrested and faces charges of:
- Impaired Operation / Motor vehicle
- Exceed 80mgs / Motor vehicle
He is scheduled to appear 11Aug11 in Cornwall court.
(South Stormont) - On 30 Jul 11, at approximately 2:30am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 138, South Stormont Township.
The stop revealed that the 21yr old female driver (Christina EZARD of Cornwall, On) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
She was arrested and faces charges of:
- Impaired Operation / Motor vehicle
- Exceed 80mgs / Motor vehicle
She is scheduled to appear 11Aug11 in Cornwall court.
(South Glengarry) - On 29Jul11, at approximately 9:00pm SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a collision on 3rd Line Road, South Glengarry Township.
The investigation revealed that a 24yr old male had been injured after he had taken a dirt bike for a ride. The male (Pascal TRIBOUT of Ste Marthe Sur Lac, QC) was found to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested.
He faces charges of:
- Impaired Operation /Motor Vehicle
- Fail to Accompany Peace Officer for Blood Sample / Peace Officer Demand / Motor Vehicle
He is scheduled to appear 11 Aug 11 in Cornwall court.
FAIL TO STOP FOR POLICE
(South Stormont) - On 30 Jul 11, at approximately 11:45pm, SD&G OPP officers attempted to stop a silver Honda on Highway 401, South Stormont Township.
When police activated their emergency lights the vehicle stopped on the shoulder, when the officer approached the vehicle the driver sped off and went onto the east bound off ramp (McConnell Ave). While on the ramp the driver lost control and entered the ditch.
The driver’s four male passengers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to the Cornwall Community Hospital.
The 16yr old male driver (from Chomedey, QC) was arrested and faces charges of:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily harm â€" Motor vehicle
- Failure to Stop vehicle being Pursued by Police Causing Bodily Harm
- Fail to remain at Scene of Accident Cause Bodily Harm
He is scheduled to appear 18Aug11 in Cornwall court.
DOMESTIC INCIDENT
(North Dundas) - On 29 Jul 11, at approximately 10:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Main St. Chesterville, On.
The investigation revealed that a female and her 27yr old common-law husband were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.
He was arrested and faces a charge of:
- Assault
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
(North Glengarry) - On 01 Aug 11, at approximately 11:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Harrison St. Alexandria, On.
The investigation revealed that a female and her 25yr old common-law husband were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.
He was arrested and faces charges of:
- Assault
- Assault with a Weapon
- Breach of Probation order
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
