The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Ontario Provincial Police: On July 21, 2011, at approximately 4:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance at a residence on Robertson Road, South Glengarry Township.

Alexandria - Jul. 22, 2011 - The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Ontario Provincial Police:

STOLEN VEHICLE LEADS TO ARREST
(South Glengarry) - On July 21, 2011, at approximately 4:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance at a residence on Robertson Road, South Glengarry Township. Once at scene, further investigation revealed the accused had left in a vehicle without the owner’s permission.

The vehicle (1986 Cube van) was observed and stopped by officers on County Road 43, North Glengarry Township. Patrick COCHRANE, 45 of Cornwall was arrested and is charged with;Take Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent, Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content, Driving While Under Suspension (2 counts)

He is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on September 7, 2011.

DOMESTIC INCIDENT
(South Dundas) - On July 21, 2011, at approximately 9:15pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident at a residence on County Road 31, South Dundas Township. Investigation revealed a verbal altercation between a 54yr old male (from South Dundas) and his common-law spouse resulted in the accused assaulting the female victim.

The male was arrested and is charged with; Assault

He is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court at a later date.

HOUSE FIRE
(North Stormont) - On July 21, 2011, at approximately 8:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a house fire on Seventh Road, North Stormont Township. Moose Creek, Avonmore and Maxville Firefighters were on scene to extinguish the fire, which completely destroyed the residential home. No injuries resulted.

An investigator with the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire with the assistance of SD&G OPP.
