Have you ever heard the expression, “There is nothing to do around Cornwall and area?” We beg to differ, as there are countless events happening in the area. The promotion of these events was the driving factor for the creation and launch of OurHometown.ca.

Cornwall - Jul. 13, 2011 - Have you ever heard the expression, “There is nothing to do around Cornwall and area?” We beg to differ, as there are countless events happening in the area. The promotion of these events was the driving factor for the creation and launch of OurHometown.ca.

OurHometown.ca boasts the area’s most comprehensive events database, listing over 2,500 events since the end of January 2011. To date, the database contains 1,119 Cornwall events, 220 from Stormont, 535 from Dundas and 669 from Glengarry. So far, our busiest month for events was March where we helped promote over 500 things happening in SD&G!

The database contains a text listing of area events with all the relevant information, including a hyperlink back to the organization’s site, if applicable. However, our support for local events does not stop there.

In less than six months, we have also ran a feature story on 71 local events. These events were featured with a full page story, photo and listed on our Featured Events page from the time the story was posted until their event happened. Further, we have also covered many events with photos and stories after they have been completed, to share the outcome and successes with our growing readership.

OurHometown.ca is your online community hub for Cornwall, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry and we are here to help promote your event and all the wonderful things that happen in our area.
