The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Cornwall Community Police Service: Christopher Davidee Qujjuk Kootoo-Dupuis, 19, of Cornwall was arrested on the 28th of June, 2011 following a theft investigation.

Cornwall - Jun. 29, 2011 - The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Cornwall Community Police Service:

THEFT UNDER $5,000.00
Cornwall, Ont. - Two females, ages 15 and 16, were arrested on the 28th of June, 2011 following a shoplifting incident. The 16 year-old female was bound by a Recognizance Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that both females entered a Brookdale Avenue department store and stole merchandise. They were detained by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer until the arrival of a member of Community Patrol. The 16 year-old is facing 1 count of Breach of Recognizance and both females are facing 1 count of Theft Under $5,000.00 respectively. They were released to the custody of their parents. Their names are not being released due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

THEFT UNDER $5,000.00 and BREACH OF PROBATION
Cornwall, Ont. - Christopher Davidee Qujjuk Kootoo-Dupuis, 19, of Cornwall was arrested on the 28th of June, 2011 following a theft investigation. The male was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. On June 22nd, it is alleged that he took a laptop from an acquaintance. The laptop was not returned to the owner and police were contacted. It is further alleged that the male sold the property. As a result, the male is facing 1 count of Theft Under $5,000.00 and 1 count of Breach of Probation. He was released to appear in court on the 26th of July, 2011 to answer to the charges.

BREACH OF PROBATION
Cornwall, Ont. - A 15 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 28th of June, 2011 for breaching her conditions. She was bound by a Probation Order with conditions to Abide by a curfew and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. On the offence date, it is alleged that she was away from her residence after curfew. Police were contacted and the female was located at an east end entertainment location. She was arrested for 2 counts of Breach of Probation and released to appear in court on the 21st of July, 2011 to answer to the charges. Her name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREAK AND ENTER
Cornwall, Ont. - The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred at approximately 08:30 pm. on the 28th of June, 2011 at a Brookdale Avenue hotel room. The suspect(s) gained entry into the room through an open window. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a wallet containing identification, money, credit and debit cards, cigarettes and a lighter. BREAK AND ENTER
Cornwall, Ont. - The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred in the early hours of June 29th, 2011 at a Brookdale Avenue business. The suspect(s) gained entry by throwing a rock through the front door accessing the business. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole cash. THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE
Cornwall, Ont. - The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating the theft of a black 2003 Chevrolet Venture from a Brookdale Avenue department store parking lot on the 28th of June, 2011 shortly after 06:00 p.m. If you have any information regarding the theft of this vehicle, please contact the Service at (613) 932-2110.
