PC candidate Jim McDonell first to open provincial campaign office

Cornwall - Jun. 13, 2011 - Jim McDonell, the Ontario PC candidate for Stormont, Dundas, South Glengarry opened his Campaign Office today. The office is located at 900 Pitt Street, Unit 2B, Cornwall - which is the same location Guy Lauzon utilized in the Federal election campaign.

Today, there was lots of talk about a blue wave coming through Eastern Ontario and that it will lead to a Tim Hudak majority government on October 6, 2011. Pictured with the McDonell family are MP Guy Lauzon, Campaign Manager Eric Duncan and Campaign Chair Glen Grant.

McDonell spoke about the jump start that the local PC party has over the other parties. His office is opened, signs have arrived, his campaign team in place and volunteers are coming forward.

This evening, the local Liberal Riding Association will hold their provincial nomination meeting at the Cornwall Civic Complex. Former Cornwall city councillor Mark MacDonald, retired St. Lawrence College Director Pat Finucan and Parliament Hill staffer Denis Sabourin have announced their intention to seek the Liberal nomination.

Cornwall councillor Elaine MacDonald is the sole candidate thus far to seek the NDP nomination, whose meeting will be held June 15th. The Green Party has yet to announce their nomination plans.

Ontarians go to the polls on Thursday October 6, 2011.
