Memories and Apple Pie
Here is Lynn Powell's Apple Sour Crumble Pie recipe from the Cookbook prepared by the staff of MacDonell Memorial Hospital celebrating their 25th Anniversary. My Mother-In-Law often made apple crumbles but she had Lynn's recipe flagged so I decided to bake it. Enjoy.

Stoney Point - March 8, 2015 - Here is Lynn Powell's Apple Sour Crumble Pie recipe from the Cookbook prepared by the staff of MacDonell Memorial Hospital celebrating their 25th Anniversary. My Mother-In-Law often made apple crumbles but she had Lynn's recipe flagged so I decided to bake it. Enjoy.

1 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp flour
1\2 tsp cinnamon
3\4 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
7 cups apples (peeled, cored and sliced)
1 unbaked 10" pie shell

In large bowl combine sugar, flour and cinnamon. Blend in sour cream and vanilla. Add apples and mix thoroughly to coat all slices. Transfer to pie shell smoothing top.

Crumble Topping
1\2 cup flour
1\2 cup brow sugar, packed firmly
1 tsp cinnamon
1\3 cup cold butter

Mix flour, brown sugar and cinnamon. Using pastry blender or fork, cut in butter to make course crumble. Sprinkle evenly over apples.

Bake at 450 degrees for 75 min or until apples are tender and crust is browned. If rim of pie browns too quickly, cover quickly, cover lightly with foil.
