Cornwall Colts protect Andrew Ming prior to CCHL draft
Cornwall - May. 19, 2011 - Andrew Ming was one of two Colts' major bantam protected players, heading into last night's CCHL entry draft. Andrew is the younger brother of former Colt and current Kitchener Ranger Eric Ming. Tanner Spink, the younger brother of twins Tylor and Tyson was also protected.

The top two CCHL picks had local connections with Remi Elie from Green Valley being selected first overall by the Hawkesbury Hawks. Morrisburg native Marc Beckstead went second overall to the Cumberland Grads.

The Cornwall Colts picked Long Sault defencemen Parker Krol with thier first pick (4th Round - 47th overall). Two picks later in the fifth round they chose James Edwardson, a goaltender from Williamstown.

Other Colts picks included D Benjamin Poirier from Green Valley, LW Lawson MacDougall from Williamstown, F Grant Cooper, D Matthew Crnjac, D Matthew Wilson, F Josh Stubbings who played for the Winchester Hawks last year, D Johnny Kyte and D Braeden Pearl.
