Clark Honoured To Receive Confidence Of Leeds-Grenville Voters

Fresh off his re-election Thursday, October 6, Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark thanked the voters of the riding for once again putting their trust in him to stand up for them at Queen’s Park.

Brockville - Oct. 7, 2011 - Fresh off his re-election Thursday, October 6, Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark thanked the voters of the riding for once again putting their trust in him to stand up for them at Queen’s Park.

  He said he was humbled to be re-elected with 63.5% of the vote just 18 months after he was first elected in a March 2010 byelection.

“It’s an honour to be re-elected to serve the great riding of Leeds-Grenville,” stressed Clark. “I want to thank everyone who took the time to cast a ballot in the provincial election. It’s been a privilege to serve for the past 18 months and I plan to continue working hard every day to make sure your interests come first.”

Clark congratulated his campaign team for their hard work over the past month and also commended his political opponents for a well-fought battle that stuck to the issues.

“It takes a lot of courage to step forward and run for public office and regardless of party stripe, I think the voters of Leeds-Grenville were well represented on the ballot,” noted Clark.

He said he was proud of the gains Ontario PCs made in ridings across the province, especially in Eastern Ontario, and said he’s looking forward to getting together with the expanded Tory caucus soon.

“Although the provincial results were not what we hoped for, I think the voters of Ontario sent a clear message that they want relief and respect. I know that’s what I heard on doorsteps in communities across Leeds-Grenville and that’s the message I’m taking back to Queen’s Park,” said Clark.

While it’s not yet known when the Legislative Assembly will be recalled, Clark stressed his constituency office is available to serve the residents of Leeds-Grenville.

And he said he will continue offering service to constituents in all corners of the riding with Wednesday office hours in Kemptville (9-11 a.m. at the North Grenville Municipal Centre) and Prescott (1-3 p.m. at town hall) and Friday hours in Westport (9-11 a.m. at the town hall) and Gananoque (1-3 p.m. at the Emergency Services Building).
