 | | By Kurt DusterbergNHL.com | Raleigh - Dec. 4, 2014 - Eric Fehr forced a turnover in the high slot, then lifted a shot over Anton Khudobin's glove with 4:02 remaining to give the Washington Capitals a 2-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Arena on Thursday.
The Capitals (11-10-4) are 10-1-1 when scoring first this season. Goaltender Braden Holtby made 29 saves to earn his ninth win. The Hurricanes (8-14-3) fall to 3-4-2 against Metropolitan Division opponents.
