French Open: Day Four - No upsets here, Djokovic and Federer keep rolling along
Unlike the Women's side of the draw, that has seen both Serena and Venus Williams eliminated from the 2012 French Open. All has gone according to plan when it comes to the Men's bracket. Top seed Novak Djokovic barely broke a sweat in advancing to the third round, while Roger Federer picked up Grand Slam win number 234 to pass Jimmy Connors for top spot on the career win list.

Edmonton - May 31, 2012 - Unlike the Women's side of the draw, that has already had both Serena and Venus Williams eliminated in the opening days of the 2012 French Open. All has gone according to plan when it comes to the Men's singles bracket, as the favourites continue mowing down their opposition. Top seed Novak Djokovic barely broke a sweat in advancing to the third round, while Roger Federer picked up Grand Slam win number 234 to pass Jimmy Connors for top spot on the career win list.

Djokovic set the tone early in his second round match against Blaz Kavcic and rode the wave from there, winning 6-0, 6-4, 6-4. The Serbian's game continues to round into form to what he hopes will be his first championship at Roland Garros. His methodical approach served him well, as he pounded his way to forty-one winners on the afternoon and an easy victory. France's Nicolas Devilder is next in line for the world number one, who should have little trouble moving into the second week of play in France.

As for Federer, his historic victory came against Adrian Ungur, and was powered by a strong service game and fifteen aces. After dropping the opening two sets, Ungur managed to force a fourth after taking a close third set tiebreaker. While it simply delayed the inevitable outcome, sometimes that bit of extra court time can prove to be beneficial to the top players as they move along in the tournament. The number three seed will face, yet another Frenchman, in Nicolas Mahut. Mahut continued his strong play in eliminating Slovak Martin Klizan after bouncing Andy Roddick in round one..

Other notables moving on were Juan Martin Del Potro, despite being pushed to four sets. While number seven Tomas Berdych, had little trouble winning in straight sets against.Michael Llodra. Eleventh seed Gilles Simon manged to squeak though a five setter in front of the home ground while fellow Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will have to wait another day to find out his fate. Tsonga had his second round match suspended, at a set a piece, against German Cedrik-Marcel Steb. The two combatants will pick up their match from and look for the fifth seed to right the ship and advance into round three.

Day Five will see the completion of round two and the return of Canadian Milos Raonic to red clay of Roland Garros. After breezing through his opening round match, Raonic will look to keep things going against American Jesse Levine.Defending champion Rafa Nadal and fourth seed Andy Murray are both scheduled to make their second appearance, as is Spain's David Ferrer and Australian youngster Bernard Tomic.
