Forget about privatizing Canada Post
I am hearing some talking heads saying it is time to privatize Canada Post. In case you are not happy with the union itself you should know that the labour movement itself is not too happy with them either! But privatize, what in H-E double hockey sticks would that accomplish?

RAMBLINGS
In my last submission, I hoped to get some stir on getting Moe Racine into the Hall of Fame. I have been looking for a direct contact and discovered that it is very difficult and some reporter said even a little mysterious. If anyone knows a direct source let us know. Click on my photo to send me an email.

In surfing around, I did learn that Moe is listed on "eligible as of March 1, 2011" list. I don’t know if that is a good sign or not but I would guess that it is . The list of "eligibles" is pretty impressive and it makes you wonder what is the test.

Had a house guest and we took a tour from Cornwall to Morrisburg. As you may know, I have been away a long time and the growth in Long Sault, Ingeside and Morrisburg really took me back. Very impressive!

I am hearing some talking heads saying it is time to privatize Canada Post. In case you are not happy with the union itself you should know that the labour movement itself is not too happy with them either! But privatize, what in H-E double hockey sticks would that accomplish? There is something like five or six unions in the postal service and it is part private now as they own Purolator. So we end up with an army of people willing to work for minimum wage - which means there would be constant turn over and at the end of the day lousy service. As a person who spent his life in management I will say this, “If it is screwed up it is ALWAYS management’s fault - so fix it!

On things political, about 44 years ago my brother-in law Bernie MacGillis was presented a plaque by his neighbours declaring him MAYOR of Julie Street. To this day, he is the senior resident and still the MAYOR!

I see Senate reform is once more on the table! How can reform mean anything when they serve at the pleasure of the institution that appoints them?

We will need some sort of ``Separation of Powers” and we all know that will never happen. Can you imagine any PM in history giving up that hammer?

It was originally set up to be like the House Of Lords in the United Kingdom, I suppose so the heavy hitters would be able to keep an eye on the great unwashed. They are now appointing bag men, journalists and hockey players. So much for the House of Lords concept, kill it and move on

Keep Smiling
