On the strength of a shutout performance from netminder Ben Scrivens and a two point night from winger Benoit Pouliot, including his first goal as an Oiler, the Edmonton Oilers managed to push their win streak to four straight courtesy of a 3-0 victory over the Carey Price(less) Montreal Canadiens at Rexall Place. Don't look now but Dallas Eakins' side looks to have righted the ship...at least for the time being.

Edmonton - October 28, 2014 - Call it what you will but seemingly out of nowhere, the Edmonton Oilers have managed to string together four straight wins following yesterday’s 3-0 win over the PK Subban and the visiting Montreal Canadiens.

Netminder Ben Scrivens continued his solid play of late in stopping all twenty-nine pucks fired his way to earn his first shutout of the season, while Beniot Pouliot led all scorers with two points on the night, including his first ever goal in Orange and Blue.

Taylor Hall and Nail Yakupov also scored in the win, as Edmonton improved to 4-4-1 on the year, after starting the 2014-15 campaign on a five game losing skid.

While the Oilers netminder found a way to make a number of timely stops when his team needed it most, the same could not be said for his counterpart at the other end of the rink. Backup goalie Dustin Tokarski was by no means the main reason the Habs lost but at the end night, those handful of saves that Scrivens made ultimately proved to be the difference between winning and losing.

Once you combine all of that with the fact the Canadiens were nowhere near their best and the Oilers blocked twenty-one shots on the night, including six by Mark Fayne and another five courtesy of Boyd Gordon, and no one should have been overly surprised with the result. At least for the moment, it appears as though Dallas Eakins and his coaching staff have righted the ship and it could not have come at a better time.
