Proposal for 2023-24 HHFL Season

We have heard from a number of GMs who would like some additional flexibility in the HHFL. As such, we would like to propose the following changes for next season.

The following changes will be made in time for the 2023-24 season...
1) Each team will have a three man taxi squad. The salary of the Taxi Squad will not count against the salary cap of the Major team.
2) The salary cap for the Taxi squad will be 10% of the NHL Salary cap, rounded to the nearest $1,000.
3) Teams will be able to move players between their major team and taxi squad, as they see fit.
4) The 2023-24 Entry draft and all subsequent drafts will move from 10-13 rounds.

Please post your vote below. These changes will allow teams to better respond to injury and hopefully increase trading.

This proposal will need 13 votes to carry. Should it carry, three extra draft picks will be added to each team draft pick grid.

The Schooners vote against the motion as is.
I like the idea of cap relief in the event of injured roster players but not as a “player stash bank”. If an amendment were made such that only players placed on injured reserve by their NHL team were eligible to be placed on the HHFL team taxi squad then the Schooners would be in agreement.
